Vibration Noise of VT007
Vibration plates produce mechanical noises due to the friction and impact among moving parts and assemblies. When vibrated, assembled parts can become more or less loose and impact each other to produce mechanical noises. Resonance effect amplifies the noise level if the structure and materials are not well designed.
VT007 is re-invented from our popular VT003F linear vibration plate. The design concept is to minimize the number of assemblies that subject to vibration. With far less parts count, separation of the control box, optimized structure and refined materials, VT007 has achieved significant reduction of mechanical noise. Especially the annoying high pitch noises are mostly eliminated, left mainly low level noise from the bearings and low frequency sound wave.
VT007 is probably the quietest linear vibration plate model in the market, with comparable vibration intensity.
VT007 Vibration Plate Noise Measurement
- Sound Level Meter:
- RISEPRO Sound Level Meter
- Frequency Range: 31.5Hz-8KHz
- Measuring Range: 30-130dB
- Frequency Weighting: A
- Resolution: 0.1 dBA
- Samples:
- The testing samples are 6 units of VT007 High Frequency Vibration Plates randomly selected from one production batch (2021 version)
- Source:
- The source is selected at the center of the footplate (right above the motor).
- Distance from Noise Source:
- The sound level meter is placed 6 inches above the machine.
Below are the measurement results.
VT003F Vibration Plate Noise Level Measurement | ||
Frequency | Amplitude Lo | Amplitude Hi |
15 Hz | 42 - 43 dBA | 42 - 44 dBA |
20 Hz | 43 - 45 dBA | 44 - 46 dBA |
25 Hz | 49 - 52 dBA | 48 - 52 dBA |
30 Hz | 50 - 53 dBA | 54 - 59 dBA |
35 Hz | 52 - 54 dBA | 56 - 60 dBA |
40 Hz | 55 - 57 dBA | 56 - 62 dBA |
Maximum noise level measured on VT007 is between 56 dBA and 62 dBA, at the highest vibration frequency (40Hz) and Hi amplitude setting.
In terms of loudness and annoyance factor, human ears perceive the same dBA level differently depending the frequency. For example, 50 dBA at 30Hz sounds much louder than 50 dBA at 20Hz.
Not just that VT007 produces less noise in dBA level, more importantly is that VT007 has largely eliminated high frequency mechanical noises. Therefore the noise from VT007 is much less annoy.
